Mrs. Gayle A. Weyland, Bermuda’s first glass artist, brought glassblowing to the island in 1985. She founded Bermuda Glassblowing Studio in 1987. Bermuda glass’ breathtaking natural elegance and beauty is unique. Uniqueness reflected in the graceful form and vibrant colors of the glass sculptures. Mrs. Gayle A. Weyland achieved, in Farnham Surrey, England, a C.N.A.A., Bachelor degree, with honors, in three dimensional design, major in glass in 1984. After working for “The Glasshouse” in London for a year, she set up this business in her homeland, Bermuda.
